I am sure you have used Nextgen Gallery plugin to display images on your blog. But there are times, when you simply want to display images in your style and not using the pre-defined templates. In this post, I am going to tell you how you can create custom template for nextgen gallery. Follow the below steps to achieve this –
- Copy gallery.php from the plugin directory (wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/view/)
- Rename gallery.php to gallery-mytemplate.php , where mytemplate can be replace with the name of the template you want to create.
- Now goto your themes folder and create a new folder called nggallery
- Now upload your new template file gallery-mytemplate.php into this folder and you are done.
Obiviously, you want to change the content of gallery-mytemplate.php as required. Also note that if you are using a framework and working in child theme then also you need to create this nggallery folder inside parent folder and store your custom files inside that folder.
Hope that works for you. Do let me know your comments or suggestions.
