I updated as noted above, and the files updated, but the download button on my plugin says "Download 1.0". When I download it downloads version 2, with the stable tag set as version 2.

How do I get

I had the same problem when first viewing the tutorial. You have to name the folder 'tags' not 'tag'. This is a typo, and took me a while to figure out!

Hope it helps.. :)

Thanks for the article it has helped me on a number of occasions when setting up my plugins on Wordpress.

However I am having an issue with the advice you give on creating new versions e.g tagging.

My folder structure on my PC is

myplugin
>trunk
>tags
>branches

and the same on the Wordpress repository.

I have just created a new version of one of my plugins 1.0.5 and I am following your advice on how to tag it so that the new version is in its own area.

However when I change my path in Tortoise on the trunk folder from

http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/strictly-google-sitemap/trunk

to

http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/strictly-google-sitemap/tag/1.0.5

like your example tells me I should do I get the following error message

Error: '/!svn/bc/319895/strictly-google-sitemap/tag' path not found

So I am slightly confused as I have followed your instructions to the letter.

Am I supposed to create a sub folder under /tags on my PC called /tags/1.0.5 first and then copy all the files from trunk into that first? Or am I somehow supposed to create an empty version folder called 1.0.5 under the /tags folder on the repository first and if so how do I go about that?

What I have ended up doing is not adding the word "tag" to the path but just putting the version e.g

http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/strictly-google-sitemap/1.0.5

This works in that I don't get an error and a new folder called 1.0.5 appears on the repository with all my files and if you go to my repository at

http://svn.wp-plugins.org/strictly-google-sitemap/

the hierarchy is:

/ - Revision 319896: /strictly-google-sitemap

..
1.0.4/
1.0.5/
branches/
tags/
trunk/

I am not sure whether this is right or not but from your example it doesn't seem to be as the logic I followed is different.

I have a few plugins all setup like this and I am very new to Wordpress and Subversion so any help in resolving this would be great.

Thanks

little correction, there should be `tags` folder, not `tag`.
